Job summary

Five Education Recruitment Limited is looking for a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with SEND in a Gloucestershire school, including Autism, ADHD, and speech and language needs. A calm, patient, and proactive approach is essential, and candidates must be able to drive to the school.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, adapt materials for diverse needs, and work with teachers and the SENDCo to promote inclusive learning and student wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people with SEND, especially Autism and ADHD.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour with empathy and resilience.
• Calm, flexible, nurturing approach to supporting learners.
• Strong teamwork and communication with staff and carers.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support aligned to EHCP targets.
• Adapt learning materials for varied learning styles and needs.
• Support development of communication skills, emotional regulation, confidence and independence.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and SENDCo to implement effective support strategies.
• Promote inclusive, safe learning environment throughout the school day.
• Supervise students during break and lunch times, ensuring wellbeing and inclusion.
