Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Hounslow is seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term placement. You will provide targeted support for a pupil with additional needs, helping to differentiate activities and encourage independence within an inclusive classroom.

The role requires a DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one, and a collaborative approach with teachers and the SEND team.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months' experience working with children in a school setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
• A patient, calm and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
• DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated support to a pupil with additional needs.
• Supporting learning through adapted and differentiated activities.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement.
• Monitoring progress and sharing observations with teaching staff.
• Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team.
