Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate Teaching Assistants to support learning in SEN Schools across Gateshead. The role is full-time and starts ASAP, with a focus on building supportive relationships with pupils and contributing to their development.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who have ASD, ADHD, PMLD, MLD and SEMH, some non-verbal, with a duty to assist with personal care if needed and to work closely with teachers to differentiate learning.

Qualifications

• Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based qualification (desirable).
• Experience of working with Children in UK schools.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Hold Right to Work in the UK.
• DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Collaborate with Class Teachers to tailor learning.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
