Job summary

Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate, proactive Teaching Assistants to support learners in a SEN School in Newcastle. This full-time role starts ASAP and runs until the end of the academic year in July 2027. You will help pupils progress and develop, building strong relationships in a supportive school community.

The role involves working with pupils aged 2–19 with ASD, ADHD, and other needs, including some personal care and non-verbal pupils. Collaboration with Teachers is essential.

Qualifications

• A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desi red)
• Experience of working with Children in Schools in the UK
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Resilient, proactive and positive nature
• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Have an enhanced child DBS certificate or willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with varied SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Assist with pupils who may be non-verbal or require personal care
• Collaborate with Class Teachers to tailor learning approaches
• Contribute to a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment
