Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a Sunderland SEN school on a full-time basis, starting ASAP. You will support pupils with diverse needs, including ASD/ADHD and PMLD, in 1:1 and small-group settings, helping them progress and develop learning skills.

The role requires building strong relationships with pupils and staff, and may involve some personal care. Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in UK schools.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Resilient, proactive and positive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with varied SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assist pupils who may be non-verbal or require personal care.
• Develop understanding of different needs and learning styles with classroom team.
• Collaborate with teachers to adapt activities and monitor progress.
