SEND Inclusion Support is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work across a range of primary and secondary schools in the United Kingdom. You will help pupils with diverse learning needs access learning, build confidence and reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in creating an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND.
  • Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage pupil engagement, independence and confidence.
  • Assist with classroom management and contribute to a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Support pupils with personal care needs where required (hygiene, dressing, eating, mobility).
  • Work with teaching staff, parents, carers and other professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion at all times.
  • Supervise and support learning activities when required.

SEND Teaching Assistant – Exciting Opportunities Available

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Role Overview

Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals, you will provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact while contributing to a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teachers in creating an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of SEND, including learning, behavioural, social, emotional, and physical needs.
  • Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage pupil engagement, independence, and confidence.
  • Assist with classroom management and contribute to a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Support pupils with personal care needs where required, including hygiene, dressing, eating, and mobility.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, carers, and external professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion at all times.
  • Supervise and support learning activities when required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience supporting individuals with SEND, either in educational, care, or community settings, would be advantageous.
  • A patient, caring, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a positive attitude.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people to achieve their potential.
  • Knowledge of SEND strategies, interventions, or assistive technologies is beneficial but not required.
