Job summary

SEND Inclusion Support is seeking compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to work in welcoming Primary Schools across Wigan. You will support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, assisting with a range of SEND needs to help them access learning and build confidence.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience with SEND pupils and strong teamwork skills, with a Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential. DBS and right to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to support pupils with diverse needs, including SEND.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups.
• Assist children with SEND needs (Autism, ADHD, speech and language, SEMH, learning difficulties).
• Help implement individual learning and behaviour support plans.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals.
• Encourage positive relationships, engagement and independence.

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are seeking caring, patient and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work in welcoming Primary Schools across Wigan

The Role

• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Assist children with a range of SEND needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH and learning difficulties
• Help implement individual learning and behaviour support plans
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
• Encourage positive relationships, engagement and independence
• Create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

• Have experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals
• Have experience supporting SEND pupils in a school, care, youth work or similar setting
• Are patient, adaptable and resilient
• Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning
• Hold a Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
