Job summary

AMA Admin in Bolton is recruiting a SEND Graduate Teaching Assistant for a full-time, term-time only position. It is a temporary role with potential to become permanent, starting ASAP or in September.

You will support pupils with SEND on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, assist with differentiated learning, and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment. A degree in any subject and an Enhanced DBS are required or applicants must be willing to obtain one.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, resilient and adaptable.
  • Previous experience with children desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEND one-to-one and in small groups.
  • Assist with differentiated learning activities alongside the class teacher.
  • Support children with Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and independence.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff.

Salary: £107.71 - £111.85 per day

We're currently recruiting for a SEND Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive SEND School in Bolton. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

You'll be working in a specialist educational setting that is dedicated to supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The school prides itself on creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every pupil is encouraged to reach their full potential. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to gain valuable hands-on experience before progressing into teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy or another child-focused profession.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Supporting pupils with SEND on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging, differentiated learning activities.
  • Supporting children with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and confidence throughout the school day.
  • Helping to create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Assisting with personal care where required, depending on individual pupil needs.
Requirements or Skills:
  • A degree in any subject.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, resilient and adaptable approach.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
