Job summary

Teaching Personnel are working with a welcoming primary school in Exmouth, Devon, seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from October 2026. This is full-time, long-term, term-time only work with hours 8:45am – 3:15pm and a focus on helping pupils with SEND.

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a school setting.
• Experience supporting children with SEND.
• Calm, patient and consistent approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Help pupils access the curriculum and engage with learning.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support pupils with communication, social and emotional needs.
• Encourage independence and pupil confidence.
