Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. in Dawlish, Devon, is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs across local schools.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups, adapting learning to each pupil’s needs and assisting in delivering EHCPs and behaviour support plans. You will promote inclusion, independence, and positive social interaction, supporting emotional wellbeing and communication while collaborating with teachers, the SENCo, and support staff.

Qualifications

• Previous SEND experience desirable but not essential.
• Transferable experience (care work, youth work, psychology, family SEND experience).
• A patient, resilient, and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine desire to learn and develop within education.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, adapting learning to individual needs.
• Assist in delivering EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour support plans.
• Promote inclusion, independence, and positive social interaction.
• Support emotional wellbeing, communication, and behaviour regulation.
• Work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and wider support staff.
