Job summary

TeacherActive is working with Leicester schools to recruit a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant. You will support children with additional needs including Autism/ASD, ADHD and SEMH, working closely with teaching staff to enable inclusive, supportive classroom learning.

The role offers daily rates of £92.63–£100, a responsive onboarding team, CPD opportunities, and a referral scheme. You will help pupils engage, stay calm in challenging situations and contribute to their personal development.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
  • Good understanding of Autism / ASD, ADHD, SEMH or learning difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to stay calm and positive in challenging situations.
  • Patient, caring and adaptable approach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom support to children with SEND alongside teaching staff.
  • Deliver targeted interventions to support learning and development.
  • Help pupils engage positively with learning and school activities.

Salary: £92.63 - £100 per day

We are looking to recruit a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with a variety of additional needs including Autism / ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will work closely with teaching staff to provide classroom support, deliver interventions and help pupils engage positively with their learning and development.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND
  • A good understanding of additional needs including Autism / ASD, ADHD, SEMH or learning difficulties
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations
  • A patient, caring and adaptable approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people to achieve their goals
