Job summary

Timeplan Education is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for a SEND education setting in Havering. The role focuses on 1:1 pupil support for learners aged 5–18 with varied needs, including PMLD and complex needs.

A DBS check or willingness to obtain one is required, with availability for 5 days a week and a commitment of 1–6 months. Experience in education is valued, with term-time hours and school days aligning to the typical UK school schedule.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain DBS status or obtain an updated DBS as required.
• Commit to a 5-day week for 1–6 months term-time position.

Learning Support Assistant - SEND Education

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who is dedicated and passionate about supporting children with special educational needs. The school, based in Havering, caters for children and young adults from 5 to 18 years old with varied needs, such as PMLD, Severe Learning Difficulties and Complex Needs.

Your role as a Learning Support Assistant will be to support the pupils on a 1:1 basis with their learning development and care needs while at school. Experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred but not essential. Experience working within a school-based or care-based environment is critical, as you must have basic knowledge and understanding of supporting children with learning care needs such as personal care.
