Job summary

Timeplan Education is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work with students aged 5–18 with a range of special educational needs at a Benfleet, Essex-based SEND school. The role focuses on 1:1 learning support and patient care in a school setting.

The successful candidate will have a willingness to assist with personal care, and be prepared to commit to 5 days a week, with term-time scheduling and school hours from 8.30am to 3.45pm.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred but not essential.
• Experience working within a school-based or care-based environment is critical, as you must have basic knowledge and understanding of supporting children with learning care needs such as personal care.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis with their learning development and care needs.
• Assist with personal care when required.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with pupils, families and staff.
• Be DBS registered with the online update service or willing to apply for a new DBS.
• Available 5 days a week and able to commit to at least 1-6 months.

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who is dedicated and passionate about supporting children with special educational needs. The school, based in Benfleet - Essex, caters for children and young adults from 5 to 18 years old with varied needs, such as ASD, ADHD, PMLD, Severe Learning Difficulties and Complex Needs.

Your role as a Learning Support Assistant will be to support the pupils on a 1:1 basis with their learning development and care needs while at school. Experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred but not essential. Experience working within a school-based or care-based environment is critical, as you must have basic knowledge and understanding of supporting children with learning care needs such as personal care.
