Job summary

Timeplan Education in Havering seeks a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs at a SEND school, 5–18 years old. The role runs 8.30am–3.45pm, term-time only, with 1:1 learning and care support.

You may have experience with SEND; DBS required or willing to apply for a new one. Availability for 5 days a week and a commitment of 1–6 months is essential. The application includes a video/face-to-face interview and references.

Learning Support Assistant - SEND Education

Based in Havering

Full-timeWe are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who is dedicated and passionate about supporting children with special educational needs. The school, based in Havering, caters for children and young adults from 5 to 18 years old with varied needs, such as PMLD, Severe Learning Difficulties and Complex Needs.

Your role as a Learning Support Assistant will be to support the pupils on a 1:1 basis with their learning development and care needs while at school. Experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred but not essential. Experience working within a school-based or care-based environment is critical, as you must have basic knowledge and understanding of supporting children with learning care needs such as personal care.

Job Responsibilities

• Available 5 days a week and able to commit to at least 1-6 months
• The successful candidate will be required to complete Disclosure and Barring Service declarations in line with Section 115 of the Police Act 1997. You will also be required to provide 2 professional references covering at least the last 2 years, and complete our online application followed by a video or face to face interview.
