Job summary

TimePlan Education is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a SEND school based in Havering (Ilford area) serving pupils aged 5–18 with varied needs including PMLD and SLD. You will support students on a 1:1 basis during school hours.

Experience with SEND is preferred but not essential; a DBS check is required or willing to apply. Commitment to 5 days a week for 1–6 months is needed.

• DBS check (online update service) or willingness to apply for a new one.
• Available 5 days a week and able to commit to at least 1-6 months.

Responsibilities

Learning Support Assistant - SEND Education

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who is dedicated and passionate about supporting children with special educational needs. The school, based in Havering, caters for children and young adults from 5 to 18 years old with varied needs, such as PMLD, Severe Learning Difficulties and Complex Needs.

Your role as a Learning Support Assistant will be to support the pupils on a 1:1 basis with their learning development and care needs while at school. Experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred but not essential. Experience working within a school-based or care-based environment is critical, as you must have basic knowledge and understanding of supporting children with learning care needs such as personal care.

Job Responsibilities

• A valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new DBS.
