Step Teachers is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant for a long-term, full-time position at a large primary and nursery school in Fairstead, King's Lynn. The role focuses on supporting pupils aged 3–11 with diverse needs within a nurturing environment.

The successful candidate will work with classroom staff, SEND professionals, and families to deliver inclusive learning and safeguarding. Ofsted-rated area highlights underpin the supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable.
• Previous experience working within a school or educational setting is advantageous.
• Understanding of a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or SEMH needs.
• Patient, caring, and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Assist the class teacher in adapting activities to meet individual learning needs.
• Promote pupil engagement, confidence, and independence.
