Step Teachers in Great Yarmouth is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with diverse needs across local schools. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping learners access lessons and build confidence through tailored strategies.

This role offers flexible short-term and long-term placements, with safeguarding at the core and a commitment to inclusive practice. A calm, patient approach and the ability to adapt across different key stages are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND
  • Understanding of strategies for needs such as autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, or speech and language difficulties
  • Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Confident using behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
  • Adaptable across different key stages and classroom environments
  • Professional, reliable, and proactive

Responsibilities

SEND Teaching Assistant – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately

These flexible opportunities are ideal for support staff who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Great Yarmouth and the surrounding areas, helping them access learning and develop confidence through tailored SEND support.

Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND
