Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with PMLD and complex needs in a specialist school in the Brierley Hill/Dudley area. This is a long-term, full-time role with daily pay rates of £92.56–£100.

The position requires experience in supportive roles, including personal care, and a caring, patient approach. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a calm, enabling learning environment.

SEND Teaching Assistant – Special School

Location: Brierley Hill / Dudley
Pay: £92.56 – £100 per day
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term / ongoing

Are you a Teaching Assistant, Support Worker or Care Assistant with experience supporting children or adults with complex needs?

We are currently recruiting for a PMLD Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist school setting in the Brierley Hill / Dudley area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong care or SEN background who would like to develop their experience within education.

The school supports children and young people with severe, complex and profound learning difficulties, including PMLD, autism and additional physical and communication needs. The setting has purpose-built specialist facilities designed around the needs of its pupils.

The Role:
  • Supporting pupils with PMLD and complex additional needs
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Supporting communication, engagement and learning
  • Assisting with personal care throughout the school day
  • Supporting mobility and physical needs
  • Working alongside teachers and other professionals
  • Helping pupils develop independence and life skills
  • Creating a calm, safe and positive environment
Essential Experience:
  • Previous experience supporting individuals with complex or additional needs
  • Personal care experience – this is a requirement
  • A caring, patient and resilient approach
  • Ability to support pupils with complex needs in a hands-on setting
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
