Job description

We are seeking a long-term SEND Teaching Assistant to join the team at a school in Wirral, specializing in children with moderate to extreme learning difficulties.

The ideal candidate for a SEND Teaching Assistant would be passionate about supporting children of secondary school age in their learning and development, and has prior knowledge of ASD and ADHD communication and sensory needs.

The school are looking for a committed and supportive SEND Teaching Assistant to start at the beginning of the academic year in September. Not only will this role develop your career in education, it is also an opportunity to support young people.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Supporting students with sensory, global, complex and challenging behaviour
  • Assisting with class planning and delivery
  • Working closely with teachers and safeguarding officers
  • Creating a positive learning environment where students can develop both academically and personally.
