Job summary

Specialist SEND Group is seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join a specialist setting in January 2027. Qualifications

• QTS – essential for SEND teaching roles.
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, including learning disabilities or Down syndrome.
• Calm, patient, nurturing personality suited to a specialist setting.
• Confidence adapting the curriculum to different abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons based on the National Curriculum.
• Adapt learning activities to meet a range of learning disabilities and additional needs.
• Create a positive, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students.
• Support students with emotional regulation and behaviours using positive approaches.
• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and other professionals.
• Monitor progress and celebrate individual achievements, however big or small.
