Job description

SEND Teacher - Inclusion Hub

Ealing, West London | Long-term | Full-time or Part-time

Start date: ASAP

Salary: Inner London pay scale, M1-UPS3 (£40,317-£62,496)

A mainstream primary school in Ealing is seeking an experienced SEND Teacher to lead and teach within its Inclusion Hub, supporting KS1 pupils with additional needs.

This is a varied role combining direct teaching, personalised provision planning and leadership of a small support team. You will lead learning for a group of up to six pupils, adapting existing resources and developing weekly provision in line with pupils' EHCPs and Occupational Therapy (OT) and Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) programmes.

You’ll manage a team of three Teaching Assistants, work closely with Year 1 teachers and contribute to wider school cover when required. The school is looking for a qualified teacher with strong SEND experience who can deliver structured, individualised support while helping pupils make progress academically, socially and emotionally.

The position is available on a long-term basis, with full-time and part-time applicants considered.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead and teach within the Inclusion Hub, supporting up to six KS1 pupils with SEND.

  • Adapt existing lesson planning and resources to meet pupils' individual learning needs.

  • Create weekly timetables and plan provision in line with EHCPs, OT programmes and SaLT recommendations.

  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, reviewing provision and adapting teaching approaches where necessary.

  • Manage and coordinate three Teaching Assistants, ensuring support is effectively planned and delivered.

  • Liaise with Year 1 teachers to support curriculum continuity and appropriate opportunities for inclusion.

  • Provide flexible teaching cover across the wider school, from EYFS through to Year 6, when required.

  • Attend CPD sessions to develop practice and support the delivery of effective SEND provision.

  • Make use of allocated PPA time to plan, assess and prepare resources.

About the School

The Inclusion Hub is based within a mainstream primary school, providing targeted support for KS1 pupils with additional needs while maintaining links with the wider school community.

The role offers the opportunity to shape and deliver personalised provision, work alongside a dedicated team of support staff and collaborate with mainstream teachers to meet pupils' needs.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Strong experience teaching pupils with SEND.

  • Experience differentiating lessons and adapting resources to meet individual needs.

  • Understanding of EHCPs and how to use them to inform teaching and provision.

  • Ability to plan structured learning and support programmes for pupils with additional needs.

  • Strong behaviour management, organisation and communication skills.

  • Experience working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and other professionals.

  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and pupil development.

Experience with OT and SaLT programmes would be particularly beneficial, as would previous responsibility for coordinating support staff or leading SEND provision.

What's on Offer?

  • A long-term teaching position with an ASAP start.

  • Full-time or part-time working arrangements.

  • Inner London teacher pay scale, dependent on the agreed role and relevant experience.

  • Allocated PPA time and opportunities to attend CPD.

  • The opportunity to lead a small Inclusion Hub and develop tailored provision for pupils with SEND.

  • Ongoing support from Marc Murphy at Tradewind Recruitment, a former primary teacher.
