Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Inclusion Teacher for a long-term temporary role in Coventry. You will lead the SEND Support Base and deliver adapted teaching aligned to Key Stage 2 attainment levels, while supporting Functional Skills and vocational pathways.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the SENCO, support staff, families and external agencies to ensure inclusive, trauma-informed learning and high expectations for every student.

Qualifications

  • QTS is required and experience teaching SEND in mainstream or specialist settings.
  • Ability to lead, coach and direct SEND support staff within the SEND base.
  • Commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed education and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the SEND Support Base and deliver engaging, adapted teaching.
  • Deliver provision aligned to Key Stage 2 attainment levels.
  • Support Functional Skills and vocational pathways for students.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, support staff, families and external agencies.

Job Title: SEND Inclusion Teacher
Location: Coventry
Start Date: January
Salary: £170 - £241 per day

Do you have experience teaching and supporting students with SEND in a mainstream primary or specialist setting?

Can you create an inclusive, trauma-informed learning environment while maintaining high expectations for every student?

The school is looking to appoint a SEND Inclusion Teacher on a long-term temporary basis, with the potential to become permanent. The successful SEND Inclusion Teacher will lead the SEND Support Base, deliver engaging and adapted teaching including provision aligned to Key Stage 2 attainment levels, support Functional Skills and vocational pathways, and work closely with the SENCO, support staff, families and external agencies.

The successful SEND Inclusion Teacher will have:
  • QTS
  • Experience teaching and supporting students with SEND in a mainstream primary or specialist setting
  • Strong knowledge of adaptive teaching and inclusive classroom practice
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • The ability to lead, coach and direct support staff within the SEND Support Base
  • A resilient, reflective approach with a commitment to inclusive education and continuous professional development
