Job summary

GSL Education Kent in Ashford is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to support pupils with SEMH in a specialist setting. The role involves delivering engaging, differentiated lessons and building positive relationships with students, staff and external professionals.

The position is full-time and long-term, starting September 2026, with competitive daily rates (£120-£250) and a pathway to a permanent contract. Commitment to safeguarding and DBS Update Service is required.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent required.
• Experience working with SEN/SEMH desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• Genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons for primary-aged pupils.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with students.

We at GSL Education Kent are currently recruiting for a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join an independent/non-maintained special school for children with SEMH needs, autism, or ADHD in Ashford. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for an experienced SEN Teacher or a mainstream teacher looking to transition into a specialist SEMH setting where every day brings the chance to positively impact children s lives.

The Role:

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH. You will work closely with support staff, therapists and senior leaders to create a positive learning environment that promotes both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.

The successful SEN Teacher will:
