Job summary

SMART Education Recruitment Ltd in Sutton Coldfield is seeking an SEN Teacher to support pupils with SEMH needs in a specialist setting. You will create a calm, structured learning environment and motivate pupils to reach their full potential.

Applicants should hold QTS, have at least 6 months in SEN/SEMH, and possess a DBS Update Service or be willing to obtain one. The role is a contract position with a daily rate of £140–£253 PAYE or Umbrella.

Qualifications

• QTS required to teach in SEN settings.
• At least 6 months experience in SEN or SEMH settings.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to provide references covering the previous 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Develop positive relationships that encourage engagement and learning.
• Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews.
• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and other professionals.

The Role

You will be working within a specialist setting, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs alongside associated behavioural challenges.
