  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with SEND experience essential
  • Excellent knowledge of the UK SEND and Alternative Provision education system
  • Experience supporting children with ASD, complex needs, and challenging behaviour
  • Minimum of 12 months' experience working within Special Educational Needs
  • Safeguarding Level 1 training
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
  • A caring, patient, and nurturing approach
  • A strong commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs

Job description

SEND Teacher
Location: Solihull
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: MPS1 - MPS6 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Temporary, ongoing with potential for a permanent role
Hours: full-time, 08:15 - 16:00pm

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and committed SEND Teacher to join an Primary School in Solihull. This full-time role involves leading a small primary-aged class of pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), complex needs, and social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD).

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, differentiated lessons and provide a structured, nurturing environment to support pupils who require an alternative approach to mainstream education.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have prior experience working as an SEND Teacher, along with a strong understanding of the UK SEND and Alternative Provision curriculum.

Essential criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - SEND experience essential
  • Excellent knowledge of the UK SEND and Alternative Provision education system
  • Experience supporting children with ASD, complex needs, and challenging behaviour

The Setting

This primary school supports pupils within their classrooms with a wide range of needs, including Autism, non-verbal communication needs, physical disabilities, sensory processing difficulties, and challenging behaviour. You will work closely with a dedicated team to ensure every pupil receives high-quality, personalised support.
