Job summary

Milk Education in Nottingham is seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join a supportive primary school on a long-term basis from September. The role involves delivering high-quality lessons and collaborating with the SENCO and staff to meet the needs of pupils with additional needs.

You will plan inclusive activities, monitor progress, contribute to EHCP reviews, and support positive behaviour and wellbeing. The school offers ongoing professional development, a supportive network, and flexible

Qualifications

  • QTS with experience teaching pupils with SEND in a primary setting.
  • Strong inclusive teaching strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils with SEND including Autism, ADHD and speech and language needs.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, parents and external professionals.
  • Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews where required.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support a wide range of abilities.

You'll be joining an inclusive school committed to ensuring every child receives the support they need to achieve their potential. Working closely with the SENCO and wider staff team, you'll help deliver high-quality teaching for pupils with additional needs.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Requirements or Skills:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND within a primary setting
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • Patient, adaptable and nurturing approach
  • Passion for helping every child achieve success

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
