Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a Primary School in Ashton in Makerfield (WN4) to support SEND pupils across KS1–KS2. This long-term, temporary role starts in September and offers a chance to become a familiar, trusted presence in a supportive school community.

You will assist with planning, adapt resources, and help deliver catch-up sessions while fostering an inclusive classroom culture where every child belongs.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience working in a school or education setting.
  • Solid numeracy and literacy skills.
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar - or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting SEND Children across KS1 and KS2, responding to their individual needs.
  • Helping deliver catch-up sessions to close learning gaps.
  • Working alongside the class teacher on lesson planning and adapting resources.

SEND Teaching Assistant

We’re currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Ashton in Makerfield, WN4, to support SEND children across KS1 and KS2. This role is on a long-term basis starting in September and is a temporary role.

You’ll be joining a fun and caring school, focused on supporting children to feel positive, happy and safe. This is a great opportunity for a new or experienced educator to become a familiar face in a school where staffing, culture and community go hand in hand.

Your main responsibilities will include:

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
