Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a caring SEN Teacher to join our partner primary schools in Middlesbrough and surrounding areas for September 2026.

You'll support pupils with SEND across KS1/KS2, deliver 1:1 and small group interventions, and help create inclusive learning environments. Long-term, full-time roles with potential to become permanent and a fast-track compliance process are offered.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable.
  • Experience in Primary School, SEN School, Alternative Provision, Care or Youth Work is advantageous.
  • Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language needs, and challenging behaviour.
  • Patient, caring, and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
  • Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Support children with Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language needs, SEMH, and other learning needs.
  • Work with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning plans and EHCP targets.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour using consistent behaviour management strategies.
  • Encourage pupils' confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
  • Support pupils with classroom routines, learning interventions and educational activities.
  • Assist with personal care where required.
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.

Milk Education is working with a number of welcoming and supportive Primary Schools across Middlesbrough and the surrounding areas and is looking to recruit caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated qualifiedSEN Teacher to join schools from September 2026.

If you are qualified teacher in SEND schools and have had experience with KS1 and KS2 Year groups we'd love to hear from you. We have a range of long-term, full-time opportunities available, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

You'll play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping to remove barriers to learning while creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child can reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
