Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Nottingham on a long-term basis starting in September. The role focuses on delivering high-quality teaching for pupils with additional needs, working with the SENCO and wider staff to ensure each child receives tailored support.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND in a primary setting.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Patient, adaptable and nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEND, including Autism, ADHD and speech and language needs.
  • Creating an inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive.
  • Working closely with teaching assistants, parents and external professionals.
  • Monitoring progress and contributing to EHCP reviews where required.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Adapting teaching strategies to support a wide range of abilities.

You’ll be joining an inclusive school committed to ensuring every child receives the support they need to achieve their potential. Working closely with the SENCO and wider staff team, you’ll help deliver high-quality teaching for pupils with additional needs.

Your main responsibilities will include:


  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs

Requirements or Skills:

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
