Job summary

Westfield House School is seeking a dedicated SEND specialist teacher to plan and deliver inclusive PSHE and therapeutic education for pupils with complex needs. The role supports learning up to KS4 within a supportive, values-driven environment.

You will prepare materials, record progress and work closely with families while upholding safeguarding standards. Applicants should have at least two years of SEND experience, and hold QTS/QTLS.

Qualifications

  • Two years' experience minimum in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision.
  • QTS/QTLS is a requirement to teach in our setting.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach PSHE to small groups and individual students.
  • Teach up to KS4 as part of a therapeutic education approach.
  • Prepare teaching materials, take registers and write reports.
  • Help students develop confidence, independence and motivate learning.
  • Manage behaviour and communicate progress with parents and carers.
  • Adhere to safeguarding protocols and DBS checks.

To plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that meets the diverse needs of pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
