Job summary

Keys Education is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support Oaklands Manor in a picturesque rural location. The role involves assisting teachers, promoting pupil wellbeing, and adapting support for complex needs. A level 3 TA qualification is advantageous, with at least two years of SEND experience preferred.

Salary ranges £26,228–£27,593 full-time (37.5 hours/week). The package includes a pension, referral bonus, enhanced pay scales, and funded training.

Qualifications

  • Two years' experience minimum working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision.
  • Ability to assist with learning activities and support pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pupils with learning activities under teacher guidance.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development using trauma-informed approaches.
  • Help manage behaviour in line with school policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
  • Encourage pupil engagement and independence in learning tasks.
  • Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of resources.
  • Support record-keeping and monitoring of pupil progress as directed.

Job description

To support teaching and learning by assisting teachers in delivering education and care to pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The SEND Teaching Assistant will embody the EPIC values and adhere strictly to the Staff Code of Conduct to create a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment that promotes pupil wellbeing and achievement.,

  • Assist pupils with learning activities, adapting support to individual needs under teacher guidance
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development using trauma-informed approaches
  • Help manage behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct
  • Encourage pupil engagement and independence in learning tasks
  • Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of resources
  • Support record-keeping and monitoring of pupil progress as directed
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly learning environment
    A committed and passionate view of students with SEND
  • At least two years' experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision
  • A level 3 TA qualification is advantageous
    Oaklands Manor provides therapeutic educational placements for pupils who live in the adjoining Keys Group Residential Home. We are committed to each and every one of our pupils and provide specialist support which is individually tailored to meet the unique needs of the pupils.

Recent refurbishment has resulted in spacious, well-equipped classrooms with modern resources, with easy access to outdoor learning enhances the learning experience. We offer a small, structured classes for implementing Individual Education and Behaviour Plans. These plans adapt curricula for pupils' abilities, Key Stages, and needs, leading to nationally recognised accreditation from Entry Level to GCSE. While adhering to a high staff-to-pupil ratio to meet diverse needs.
Salary: £26,228 - £27,593 | Full Time (37.5 hours/week),
