Job summary

Liverpool Progressive School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours in a SEND-focused environment in Liverpool. You will assist teachers with curriculum-based learning, behavioural management, and provide daily progress updates.

We value safeguarding, a commitment to pupil wellbeing, and collaboration with parents. A Level 3 TA qualification is advantageous while full-time hours are 37.5 per week with pension benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEND environment or similar unit/provision.
• Two years minimum experience in SEND.
• Level 3 TA qualification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support learners with curriculum-based learning in the classroom, home tuition, and outreach.
• Assist with learning material prep and deliver objectives with behavioural management.
• Provide daily progress reports on learners' progress and barriers to learning.
• Engage with parents and carers regularly.
• Demonstrate a committed approach to SEND learners.

Job description

To support teaching and learning by assisting teachers in delivering education and care to pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The Teaching Assistant will embody the EPIC values and adhere strictly to the Staff Code of Conduct to create a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment that promotes pupil wellbeing and achievement. The school provides specialist education which supports the educational needs of young people aged 8 - 19 with moderate to severe learning difficulties, complex needs and a range of associated social, emotional, interaction and sensory difficulties.,

• Mentoring, supporting and inspiring learners by supporting them with curriculum-based learning in the classroom, on home tuition and outreach and through outdoor activities
• Assist with the preparation of learning material and contributing to the delivery of learning objectives with a strong focus on behavioural management
• Daily reports on learners' progress and barriers to learning
• Interaction with parents/care givers on a regular basis A committed and passionate view of students with SEND
• At least two years' experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision
• A level 3 TA qualification is advantageous Salary: £26,228 - £27,593 | Full Time (37.5 hours/week), NEST enhanced pension scheme
