Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking a SEND Teacher in Chesterfield to cover a Monday–Friday day schedule from 8:30am to 3:30pm. The role is temporary with a view to a permanent post for the right candidate, delivering lessons and supporting pupils with varied learning needs in a secondary SEND setting.

You will need UK QTS and experience with SEMH/ASD/other SEND needs. The school is an Ofsted Good provision and part of a supportive team of SEND staff; Vision for Education provides training,

Qualifications

  • Hold UK QTS with primary or secondary subject specialism.
  • Experience working with a range of SEND needs including SEMH/ASD/MDL.
  • Be committed to working as part of a SEND team and delivering inspiring lessons.

  • Maintain consistency and continuity to meet individual learning requirements.

Full Time - Monday - Friday - 8:30am - 15:30pm (Temporary, to permanent full time)

Pay to scale - £175 - £325 Per Day
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.

The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: UK QTS and experience working with students with special educational needs and behaviours that challenge.

Contract Dates: - Monday 14th September2026 - Flexible start dates available

The role

As a SEND Teacher, you will be required to support the class in the delivery of lessons, whilst also providing support and guidance to the students in their variety of learning needs.

Working with students with special educational needs is an extremely rewarding environment to work in, however it can be challenging getting to know the needs of students and therefore this role benefits from consistency and continuity.

Ideally for this role you will have had experience working with Social, emotional and mental health needs of children or young adults, ASD, ADHA, MLD and Emotional behaviours difficulties.

Based in an Ofsted rated 'Good' SEND provision in the Chesterfield area, the school caters for needs including but not limited toSEMH, ASC, ADHA, MLD and EBD.

The school caters for children in primary years all the way through to secondary (KS1 - KS5). This particular role will be based in a secondary aged classroom.

Requirements

To be considered for the position of SEND Teacher, you will need to:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Primary or Secondary subject specialism - Ideally Maths and/or English.
  • Experience working with children with a variety of SEND including but not limited to, MLD/SLD/PMLD/ASD/SEMH/SEBD/PD/VI/HI and other complex needs
  • Have previous experience within a similar specialist setting or strong transferable experience from a mainstream setting.
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of SEND Teachers and LSA’s
  • Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons.
  • Ideally be Team Teach trained or willing to undertake a course free of charge through us.
