Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is helping a specialist school in Exeter recruit a SEND Learning Support Assistant. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm, with a 30-minute lunch break, at £103 per day, ASAP start.

You will support pupils with Autism, ADHD, anxiety, MLD, SEMH and communication difficulties, both 1:1 and in small groups, within a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide learning and emotional support to pupils 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships using a nurturing, trauma-informed approach.
  • Support pupils to develop confidence, emotional regulation, communication and social skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other professionals to deliver personalised support.
  • Assist in implementing EHCPs and individual learning targets.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the school team.
  • Use positive behavior strategies to support pupils with additional needs.

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? A specialist school in Exeter is looking for a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join its supportive team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, Anxiety, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), and communication difficulties. About the Role

As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you'll play an important role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning while supporting their emotional wellbeing and personal development. Working alongside teachers and specialist staff, you'll help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every child can thrive. You will support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, encouraging independence, confidence, and positive relationships throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities
