Job summary

St Mary's C of E Primary School in Godalming is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND in a Key Stage 2 classroom. You will work with the SENDCo and class teachers to help pupils access learning, develop confidence and independence, and achieve EHCP outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting children with SEND is advantageous.
• Willingness to learn and develop inclusive practices.
• Ability to engage with pupils and families respectfully.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with pupils and support their learning.
• Help regulate emotions and behaviour using agreed strategies.
• Provide sensory and movement breaks and time-out opportunities as needed.
• Adapt activities to enable pupils with SEND to access the curriculum.
• Encourage inclusion and participation across school life.
• Work under the direction of the SENDCo and class teachers to ensure support.
• Support pupils across the school when required.
