Job summary

St Mary's C of E Primary School in Chiddingfold is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND within a Key Stage 2 classroom. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to help children build confidence, independence and positive relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND is advantageous.
• Willingness to learn and adapt is essential.
• Ability to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support children to regulate emotions and behaviour using agreed strategies.
• Provide sensory breaks, movement breaks and time-out opportunities as appropriate.
• Adapt learning activities and resources so pupils with SEND access the curriculum alongside peers.
• Encourage inclusion and participation in all aspects of school life.
• Work under the direction of the SENDCo and class teacher to ensure appropriate support.
• Support pupils across the school when required.
