Job summary

Bedford College Group is seeking a SEND Specialist Practitioner to join our Foundation Learning and Additional Learning Support team at Shuttleworth College / Central Bedfordshire College. The post is a UK-based contract requiring the Right to Work in the UK, with permanent, full-time hours.

You will deliver specialist SEND support, work with curricular teams to create inclusive teaching practices, monitor progress and EHCP reviews, and promote assistive technologies while upholding safeguarding

Qualifications

• Degree or Level 5 qualification in a SEND specialist area with knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, safeguarding, equality and diversity.
• Experience supporting young people with SEND and EHCPs, delivering tailored interventions one-to-one and in groups.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with students, parents, carers, professionals and curriculum teams.
• Skilled in report writing, record keeping, data management and use of educational IT systems.
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist one-to-one and small group SEND support and interventions.
• Collaborate with curriculum staff to develop inclusive teaching and differentiation strategies.
• Monitor learner progress, set targets, contribute to EHCP reviews and maintain records.
• Promote assistive technology and liaise with external agencies and services.
• Support learner wellbeing and uphold safeguarding and inclusion standards.
