Job summary

The Bedford College Group is seeking a SEND Specialist Practitioner to join the Foundation Learning and Additional Learning Support department. Based at Shuttleworth College / Central Bedfordshire College, you will deliver specialist SEND support and work with curriculum staff to promote inclusive teaching.

The role includes assessment, EHCP support, and professional development, with 37 hours per week, permanent full time, and a salary of £35,894 to £47,971 depending on qualifications.

Qualifications

• Degree or Level 5 in SEND; strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and post‑16 education.
• Experience supporting learners with EHCPs and safeguarding principles.
• Excellent communication with students, parents, carers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist one-to-one and small group SEND support and workshops.
• Collaborate with curriculum staff to promote inclusive teaching and differentiation.
• Monitor learner targets, progress and EHCP reviews; maintain records.
• Promote assistive technology and staff CPD to improve support.
