Job summary

Bedford College Group is seeking a Learning Support Practitioner to join the Foundation Learning & Additional Learning Support team at Central Bedfordshire College – Dunstable Kingsway Campus. The role focuses on personalised SEND learner support, enabling access to learning, EHCP outcomes and independence.

You will monitor progress, contribute to reviews, collaborate with teachers, therapists and families, and uphold safeguarding and college standards while pursuing ongoing professional

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 3 qualification in Learning Support, Education or a related field with Level 2 English and Maths.
• Experience supporting learners with SEND within educational, specialist or care settings.
• Strong ability to promote learner independence and work across multiple sites.
• Good literacy, numeracy and digital skills; proficient in observing, recording and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, tailored SEND learner support to enable access to learning and EHCP outcomes.
• Monitor learner progress through observation, recording and reporting; support EHCP reviews.
• Implement inclusive practice and remove barriers to learning for diverse learners.
• Collaborate with teachers, ALS colleagues, therapists and families to deliver coordinated support.
• Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity and college standards; engage in ongoing professional development.
