Job summary

Just Teachers Ltd is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND in a North Lincoln school. The role is full-time from September, delivering targeted help to learners with ASD, SEMH and learning difficulties.

You will work alongside staff to adapt lessons, use visual supports, and promote independent learning in small groups or 1:1 settings, fostering inclusive practice and pupil progression.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND across educational or care settings.
  • Strong understanding of SEND including ASD, SEMH or mild/moderate learning difficulties.
  • Confidence adapting learning approaches and delivering targeted support in small groups or 1:1.

Responsibilities

About the role:

A well-resourced SEND provision in North Lincoln supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including ASD, SEMH, and learning difficulties. The school is committed to inclusive practice, personalised support, and helping learners develop both academically and socially. This role is full-time to start in September.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the delivery of differentiated and accessible lessons by working alongside teaching staff to adapt learning to meet a range of SEND needs.
  • Reinforce key concepts and support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning so they can confidently engage with the curriculum.
  • Use structured, supportive strategies – including visual supports, clear instructions, and targeted interventions – to promote participation and independence.
  • Encourage positive learning behaviours by providing consistent support, helping pupils regulate emotions, and guiding them back into learning.
Pre-requisites:
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND across educational or care settings.
  • Strong understanding of special educational needs, particularly ASD, SEMH, or moderate learning difficulties.
  • Confidence adapting learning approaches and delivering targeted support in small groups or 1:1.
  • Relevant training or qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEND qualifications, or equivalent experience.
