Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Learning Support Assistant for a specialist SEND school in Manchester. The role involves 1:1 and small-group pupil support, behaviour management assistance and close collaboration with teaching staff to ensure pupils are supported across the day.

The position offers a short/long term contract with potential to become permanent for the right candidate. Immediate start is available, with PAYE pay structure.

Qualifications

• Experience working within SEND settings.
• Experience supporting children with Autism/ ASD, SEMH or challenging behaviours.
• Experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills.
• A proactive and adaptable approach.
• A caring and nurturing personality.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils throughout the school day.
• Assist with behaviour management and supportive strategies under teacher guidance.
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff to ensure pupils are fully supported.

The school provides a supportive and nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to develop socially, emotionally and academically.

The school is looking to appoint a SEND Learning Support Assistant on a short/long term contract with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist with behaviour management and work closely with teaching staff to ensure pupils are fully supported throughout the school day.

The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience working within SEND settings
• Experience supporting children with Autism / ASD, SEMH or challenging behaviours
• Experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills
• A proactive and adaptable approach
• A caring and nurturing personality
