TeacherActive is working with a specialist SEND school in Manchester that supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism / ASD, SEMH and challenging behaviours. The SEND Learning Support Assistant will provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist with behaviour management and collaborate with teaching staff to ensure pupils are fully supported throughout the day.

The school is looking to appoint a SEND Learning Support Assistant on a short/long term contract with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist with behaviour management and work closely with teaching staff to ensure pupils are fully supported throughout the school day.

The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience working within SEND settings
• Experience supporting children with Autism / ASD, SEMH or challenging behaviours
• Experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills
• A proactive and adaptable approach
• A caring and nurturing personality
