Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd in Oldham is seeking a SEND Learning Support Assistant to support a range of primary pupils with SEND needs. The role is long-term and full-time, with potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist with behaviour management and work closely with teaching staff to ensure pupils are fully supported throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience working in SEND settings.
• Experience supporting primary-aged children with ASD/Autism and SEMH/PMLD.

Responsibilities

Are you confident working 1:1 and in small groups to help pupils stay engaged and make progress?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND primary school in Oldham that supports children with a range of additional needs, including Autism / ASD, SEMH , PMLD or challenging behaviours. The school provides a supportive and nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to develop socially, emotionally and academically.

The school is looking to appoint a SEND Learning Support Assistant on a long-term, full-time basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist with behaviour management and work closely with teaching staff to ensure pupils are fully supported throughout the school day.

The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience working within SEND settings
• Experience supporting primary-aged children with Autism / ASD, SEMH , PMLD or challenging behaviours
• Experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills
• A proactive and adaptable approach
• A caring and nurturing personality
