Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is recruiting an experienced Learning Support Assistant for a mainstream secondary school in Manchester. The role is temporary/long-term with ASAP start, paying £100-£120 per day under PAYE.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND, including Autism/ASD and ADHD, helping them engage with lessons, manage behaviour and develop independence in the classroom.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND is essential.
• Experience working with students with Autism/ ASD and ADHD is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting students within a mainstream secondary school environment.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach with a genuine passion for supporting young people.

Responsibilities

The school is looking to take on an experienced Learning Support Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis, starting ASAP. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will support students with additional learning needs, including Autism / ASD and ADHD, providing both 1:1 and small group support where required, helping students engage with their learning, manage their behaviour and develop independence within the classroom.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND is essential
• Experience working with students with Autism / ASD and ADHD is highly desirable
• Experience supporting students within a mainstream secondary school environment
