Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment Ltd. are seeking SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Oldbury's mainstream and specialist schools. You will assist with learning, behaviour support and social development, adapting to individual plans and EHCPs.

Ideal candidates will have prior SEND experience, strong communication skills and a caring, patient approach. Availability for flexible full-time or part-time placements is welcome, with DBS updates encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or in SEND settings is preferred.
• Caring, patient and resilient approach to support pupils.
• Commitment to professional development and SEND knowledge.
• Ability to follow individual plans and behaviour strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND/SEMH needs.
• Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, MLD, SLD, PMLD and other needs.
• Help pupils access learning and engage positively in class.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour in the classroom.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils and work with school teams.
• Follow learning plans, EHCPs and behaviour support strategies.
• Assist with communication, sensory needs and additional learning needs.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Help pupils build confidence, independence and life skills.
