Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking passionate SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a range of needs across North Birmingham schools.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils access learning and develop confidence in a safe, inclusive classroom environment. You will work alongside teachers and pastoral teams to follow individual plans, support emotional regulation, and foster positive relationships with pupils.

Qualifications

• Caring, patient and resilient traits are essential.
• Ability to support pupils with SEND/SEMH needs.
• Comfortable building positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND/SEMH needs.
• Supporting pupils to access learning and engage positively in the classroom.
• Helping children develop confidence, independence and social skills.
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Building strong and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams.
• Following individual learning and behaviour support plans.
• Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and reach their potential.
