This is a role for a SENDPrimary Teaching Assistant,starting September 26on afull time & long-termbasis at a lovely special needs primary school in Trafford for children with Autism and Complex Needs.
Role: SENDPrimary Teaching Assistant at special needs primary school
Start date: September 2026.
Contract:Long term. Temp to perm for the right person.
Hours:Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Excellent pay: £95-110/dayDOE – paid PAYE direct via Cover People.
Role
- Supporting children in KS2 with Autism & Complex Needs.
- No more than 10 pupils per class with a teacher and at least three SEND Teaching Assistant staff.
- You will need to look out for triggers and employ preventative strategies and de-escalation techniques to help manage behaviour so that the pupil can focus on learning.
- Tailored support in lessons on either a 1:1 or small group basis.
- Providing lots of encouragement and positive reinforcement.
- Working closely with the teacher, management, support staff, parents and outside professionals.
- Contribute to a safe, positive, inclusive and collaborative work environment.

Requirements
- CV with full history from education to present.
- Right to Work & Proof of Address in the UK.
- DBS certificate on the Update Service (or be happy to apply for a new one).
- Min of 2 professional references.
- Overseas Police Check if applicable.
- Some experience supporting primary aged children with behaviour needs.
