Cover People are recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a welcoming secondary special needs school in Salford. This full-time role supports pupils with autism and complex needs, helping them thrive in learning.

You will work Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, starting 1 September 2026. You will gain experience across classroom support, collaboration with teachers, and tailored strategies to boost confidence.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting.
  • Ability to work with pupils with autism and complex needs.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a supportive environment.
  • Two professional references available on request.
  • CV detailing education and work history.

This is a great opportunity for a position as a full time SEND Teaching Assistant at a welcoming & well-run secondary special needs school in Salford. You ll support secondary-aged children, including those with additional needs, such as Autism & Complex Needs, helping them thrive in their learning journey.

The SEND Teaching Assistant Role:
  • Start Date: Tuesday 1st Sept 2026.
  • Contract: Long-term, with potential for permanency.
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am 3:30 pm.
  • Pay: £95-110 per day (DOE), paid PAYE directly through Cover People.
