Job summary

Simply Education Ltd in Smallfield, Surrey is seeking a passionate Primary Teacher to join a specialist SEND setting for pupils aged 6-11 with communication difficulties linked to ASC. You will deliver engaging lessons across KS1 and early KS2, developing personalised learning plans within a supportive, creative environment.

The role requires QTS, experience across subjects, strong safeguarding knowledge, and a patient, child-centred approach.

Qualifications

  • QTS is essential.
  • Experience teaching across a range of subjects.
  • Experience working with pupils with ASD, SEMH and/or PDA profiles.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Experience managing a range of behaviours and using positive behaviour approaches.
  • A creative, patient and child-centred approach to teaching.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, structured lessons across a broad and creative curriculum.
  • Develop personalised learning plans that meet students' educational, physical and social needs.
  • Set, monitor and review individual learning targets.
  • Assess, track and report on student progress.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to support individual needs.
  • Contribute to EHCP, PEP and LAC reviews where appropriate.
  • Develop knowledge of autism to inform teaching.
  • Promote positive, non-confrontational approaches to behaviour and support students who may display challenging behaviours.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child protection.
