Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a dedicated SEND Primary Teacher to join a specialist primary provision in Stockport, England. You will teach pupils with diverse needs, including ASC, MLD, SLD, SLCN, ADHD, and associated challenges, delivering engaging, differentiated lessons within a supportive team.

The role focuses on planning, assessment against EHCP targets, and collaboration with therapists, TAs, and leaders to foster academic progress, confidence and personal development.

Qualifications

  • Holds QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching children with SEND or similar learning needs.
  • Strong ability to differentiate and provide inclusive teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons for learners with SEN.
  • Develop personalised learning strategies to support progress.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and external professionals.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress against targets and outcomes.
  • Support communication, social development, and independence skills.
  • Manage behaviour positively through relationships and consistent strategies.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.

Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? Aspire People is currently seeking an enthusiastic SEND Primary Teacher to join a specialist primary provision supporting pupils with a range of moderate to complex additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, social communication needs, and associated emotional and behavioural challenges.

The Role

As an SEND Primary Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of learners. Working alongside experienced support staff, therapists, and senior leaders, you will create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic progress, confidence, independence, and personal development.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an individual who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching children with SEN, SEND, or additional learning needs.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive practice.
  • Can build positive and meaningful relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
  • Possesses excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
  • Is patient, resilient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
  • Has experience within specialist settings, alternative provisions, or mainstream schools with SEND responsibilities (desirable but not essential).
